How to install and use the Outlook email add-in

The TIMOCOM Check for Outlook helps freight forwarders and hauliers minimise the risk of fraud. You can check potential business partners directly from a received email.

Installation

  • Open Outlook in your browser or as an app

  • Click on the App-Icon on the left

  • Click "Add apps"

  • Search for "TIMOCOM" in the search bar

  • Click on the search result  „TIMOCOM Check“

  •  Click "Add"

  •  Click "Got it"

Usage

  • In a received email, click on the App icon at the top right next to "Forward"

  • Then right-click on the app "TIMOCOM Check" and select "Pin"


Use_App_2_x

 

  • You will now see the TIMOCOM logo at the top right of every received email. Simply click the logo to run the check.


 

Use_App_3_x

 

  • After clicking on the logo, you will be automatically redirected to the TIMOCOM Marketplace. Log in if necessary.

  • TIMOCOM Check can provide the following information:

    1. The email address belongs to a TIMOCOM user ✅

      You are taken directly to the user’s company profile.

    2. The email address does not belong to a TIMOCOM user ❌, but to a contact person  ✅

      You will see the search result along with the following notes:

      • Contact details are provided directly by the companies.

      • We cannot guarantee the accuracy, completeness or currency of this data.

      • You will receive tips on how to further verify the email address, for example, whether it matches the company found.

       

    3. The email address belongs neither to a TIMOCOM user ❌ nor to a contact person ❌

      We inform you that we could not clearly identify the sender. This may be because the person is not a registered TIMOCOM customer or the contact details are not publicly available.
      You will also receive tips on how to proceed, for example: 

      • Search for the company using the search bar.

      • Ask the sender for their TIMOCOM ID.

      • Request an alternative contact address.
